Are Bridal Sessions Worth It?
I get this question often if I recommend a bridal session or not. One of the best decisions I made for my wedding was doing a bridal session before my wedding day. The reason is that the prime lighting for pictures is during sunset and that usually lands in the middle of your reception. I was so grateful that I had a portraits of me and husband already because during my wedding I was having SO much fun being with all my friends and family. My photographer came up to me during my reception and said do you want to go take sunset pictures and I really didn’t want to leave. If I hadn’t done a bridal session before I would’ve been really disappointed to have to miss out on that time.
That is my story on why I always say absolutely bridal sessions are worth it. You will never regret doing a bridal session, you only get married once and you will always look back on those precious photos. It also gives you another reason to wear your beautiful dress.
The cons of doing a bridal session is it is a little extra time and effort and money. You will also have to do a first look instead of him getting to see you walk down the isle for the first time. Although during my first look, I actually enjoyed it only being me and Jax and the photographer. We got to enjoy that moment with each other without an audience.
Another option is to do your bridal session after your wedding day so your first look can still be walking down the isle.
Ultimately it is up to you but that is my best advice I can give you!
